About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Give and take, to make the world go round in a better way.

ABOUT ME

I am: Artistically inclined. Bitten by travel bugs. A vegetarian for 35 years now. Into yoga and meditation but open to all spirituality and all religions. Committed to nature and environmental conservation. Having green fingers and I am trying to create a "indoor green lung" in my not-so-big apartment. Keeper of quite a few pets. Interested in people and their culture. Single and living with a grand-nephew and 2 dogs.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't know how to philosophize life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Many travelers, including myself, love to interact with the local people of the places they travel to. Getting to meet interesting people is definitely a boon besides seeing beautiful and scenic exotic places. It is a double bonus if they become good friends. Hosting strange wayfarers without asking for favour in return, is not uncommon since ancient time. Today we should serve our fellow travelers with genuine hospitality and generosity. That will make our modern world a bit better to live in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good, yet to come across any "bad hats"!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not amazingly BEAUTIFUL but amazingly DEPRESSING experiences:

1) Witnessed the instant death of a young man hit on the forehead by a flying object from a moving train's door in India 35 years ago. I had warned him not to stick his head too far out into the open door minutes before the tragedy happened.

2) Drugged with a spiked drink prepared by a gang of crooks while traveling in Manila. But I held no grudge against them and somehow even felt "grateful" to them because:
a) They took the trouble to send me back to my hotel which was 3 hour's drive away while I was unconscious. b) They took only my cash and left me with my digital camera, passport, traveler's cheque and 30 Malaysian dolllars for my bus fare in Malaysia!
c)I saw no scars or stitches on my body. Thank god they did not take any of my internal organs and sell them for transplant!
