To stay on my path while being generous with others.
I was born to be a father. Haven't planned it well (read "haven't planned at all"), but have two awesome boys, one 17 and one 4.
I'm athletic but also a little nerdy. I work hard, and am pursuing my dream of acting professionally.
My sense of humor runs from whimsical to light sarcasm. I like joking with people.
I grew up camping and roughing it, but recently went to a nice lake house and went jet skiing. That was fun, too!
I have a broad range of experiences, from traveling to meditating, from teaching to working in corporate (Wells Fargo), from teaching martial arts to doing deep tissue massage.
Share love - love is the only gift that is guaranteed to help other people find their true gifts.
Have a sense of humor - especially about yourself!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Started by hosting. Had some great experiences. Currently do not have a spare couch but can meet for coffee (I know the best places in SF).
Planning on using CS for my upcoming trip to Guatemala.
Mostly have couch-surfed with friend or friends of friends. I know that the little things count (keeping it neat, doing the dishes, etc.)
Music, Movies, and Books
Love Steinbeck. Currently reading Jane Eyre. I'm always shocked at the literature I never read and still got a degree in literature!
Love serious movies with good acting. Cry for any well-made movie about a strong father figure protecting kids or family (Hotel Rwanda, Braveheart, etc). Also love comedies with a slightly twisted sense of humor (Say It Isn't So, Death To Smoochy)
I like rock, classical, alt. rock, anything with good guitar work, anything with poetic lyrics. For dancing I like funk, R&B . . . learned a little forro and like that, too.
I sometimes surprise my self by falling in love with a song from some genre I wouldn't normally listen to. The last song that I did that with was off a New Age music album. This one song touched me to my core. I didn't like the rest of the album and only bought the one song (thanks itunes).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was thirteen I stayed in a small goatherding community on a fjord in Norway. I got to help with everything from herding to bringing hay down off the steep hills on the edge of the water. I still get a warm feeling when I eat Norwegian goat cheese.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach self-defense. I can also teach acting (Method or Meisner).
