About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Merely to entertain

ABOUT ME

I live in the coldest possible climate in the universe. During our 6+ months of winter, I'm often caught wondering, along with all other Minnesotans, why I live here. WHY? But, seriously, I always come back here, there's probably no better place on Earth...although I have a lot more places to try out.

In April, I'm heading to Eastern Europe to roam around for two months. I have a few contacts here and there, but I'm really looking for a friendly face to show me around. Could it be you?

PHILOSOPHY

The only thing that matters is the stories about yourself that you can tell before you die, and the ones people tell about you after you're dead. Money, possessions, your ceramic nesting doll collection...these things mean nothing on your deathbed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a lot of couches around the USA. I've also hosted and co-hosted several guests, especially at my current house.

Interests

Music. Really, that's the big one. I play drums in the Chickadee Mountain Martyrs here in Minneapolis (www.myspace.com/lucthedriftermuzak). I used to play in an Americana/Folk unit called The Blackthorns (www.myspace.com/blackthornsdeath), but we're not around anymore.

I love playing really technical, challenging music, music that's actually frustrating until you get the hang of it. On the other hand, I also enjoy really sparse, emotive music, with lots room to maneuver. Wow, describing music is weird, huh?

Oh, and bikes (bicycles). Love 'em. I ride one, every single day. I don't have a car, there's just no comparison. And Minneapolis is such a great city for bikes, you can go anywhere, year-round...which means that winter biking is a common lifestyle around here.
