Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to keep up the good vibe that I had during my Erasmus exchange year. This means meeting new creative people, communicating, traveling to the places I´ve never been before, get to know other cultures and keep on rock´n´rolling!

PHILOSOPHY

Usually I avoid using all those fancy quotes by worldfamous philosophers and leaders, but I´ve found couple of them that seem to be quite reasonable to me and adapted them to my life. These will probably say more about my philosophy then my confused and messy sentences:

"Happiness only real when shared"

"Even though I´m no better than a beast, don´t I have the right to live?

"What gets us into trouble
is not what we don´t know.
It´s what we know for sure
that just ain´t so."

"It is not a trivial question, Socrates said: what we are talking about is how one should live"

Overall, I think that one should be tolerant to others, understand and never stop learning and exploring. Never forget roots and identity. Be reasonable and rational, be you. Enjoy life, take the chance, don´t be afraid of new things. Plus a good joke or couple of laughs might come in handy. After all, like my friend put it: "How many times do you live, brother?"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Beginner, rookie, amateur - whatever you like. Experiences that I´ve had so far are stories of my friends using CS. But I´m really keen on participating in CS project. Soon enough I will have CS experiences of my own and I can share them with you!

Intereses

Well, first things first, I guess. My top interests throughout my life has been different kind of sports. In my younger years I was really into athletics and basketball but in recent years there has been a shift in my interests in sports. This means that working out in the gym on daily basis has become a routine for me. Plus I started with fighting sports like MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).

Because of sports I´m into healthy foods and I´m trying to keep myself posted on healthy living.

When I´m not exercising and sweating in the gym, I´m probably doing things related to languages and everything around it. I´ve never enjoyed learning a language actually but recently I´ve been finding myself making improvements in different languages and enjoyed the milestones and steps forward. There´s power in languages.

Languages aren´t just phonemes, letters, words, sentences put together. There´s more than that, my friend. Politics, psychology, ethics, sociology and so on. And all of these pre mentioned subjects have a certain place in my studies.

Part of my studies form political science and international relations. Understanding how the world rolls, how to build a state and maintain it, what´s and why democracy, citizens roll in society, international organizations and so on rock my socks.

Other than that I like reading books and I´m kind of a movie-geek, not to mention fine old-school rock and other music. Traveling, communicating and discovering the world one country at a time are becoming more and more important and necessary to me.

There´s probably more, like enjoying good company of my friends, girls, climate changes, nature, philosophy, illegal downloading, cuisines, but you can´t mention them all, can you? Although, I never say no to having a meaningful silence or a debate on previously mentioned topics that rich my world.

Música, películas y libros

People ask the question: "What´s your favorite movie of all times?" And I tell them that I don´t know. For me, there´s shitloads of marvelous and amazing flicks out there and to pick the one and only is somewhat impossible. Just to give you a hint, here´s a short list of movies I really enjoyed:

The Kite Runner, Oldboy, The Shining, There Will Be Blood, Philadelphia, Into the Wild, No Country for Old Men, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Atonement, For a few dollars more, One flew over the Cuckoo`s nest, Jackie Brown, The French Connection, The Big Lebowsky, Easy Rider, In the name of the father, Carlito`s Way, Serpico, Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, C`era una volta il West, Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, El Laberinto del fauno, Life of Brian, Reservoir Dogs, Raging Bull, Det Sjunde Inseglet, Full Metal Jacket, The Deer Hunter, Platoon, Heat, Trainspotting, Goodfellas, El lobo, This is England, Cidade de Deus, Donnie Brasco, The Hurricane, The Inconvenient Truth, Shichinin no samurai, Schindler's List, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Walk the Line, The Butterfly Effect, Irrevesible, Hate and so on. Recently I´ve been into french and spanish flicks.

My favourite album or more like a vinyl right now is definitely Burial and Four Tet - Moth/Wolf Cub. Other than that I´m fond of music that Kings of Leon produces. Others are Mustasch, Volbeat, Audioslave, Alabama Thunderpussy, Clutch, Nick Cave, Eddie Vedder, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Tõnis Mägi, Foo Fighters, The Gaslight Anthem.

Although recently reading a fine book has been more like a rarity for me, because of studies. But I appreciate authors like Kross, Tammsaare, Hemingway, Remarque, Vesaas, Strunge and so on.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Erasmus exchange year in Uppsala, Sweden. Seriously, everyone who have the chance to participate in somekind of an exchange program, should do it! No hesitations! This is the perfect chance to combine studies, traveling, communicating with new people and cultures, parties and becoming self-independent!
