About Me

"It would be a shame if you did not take this opportunity to revolutionize your life and move into an entirely new realm of experience ... don't settle down & sit in one place. Move around, be nomadic, make each day a new horizon." -Alexander Supertramp

So I have just reactivated my cs account after not really being very involved in the community for about a year. I have also just returned to Melbourne after living and studying in Indonesia. I'm currently hibernating. Going through the usual feelings upon returning home, mainly questioning everything that I am doing with my life. Endlessly looking at my map and checking flights to far away places. I know one day I might have to pick a place to settle down in but until that day comes I will continue to allow my soul to crave adventure, seek out places where time and direction cease to exist, continue to dream, wander, explore and live only for what brings me the greatest happiness in life. Travel.

I am vegan.

I love all creatures great and small.

My spirit longs for a life in the woods.

I am at my truest and happiest when travelling.

PHILOSOPHY: Step out of your head and into your heart

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I was only thinking about how I found out about couch surfing the other day. I bumped into an old friend at a warehouse and mentioned wanting to travel to her. She told me about a guy she knew that used this website to travel across South America. My interest was instantly sparked. A profile was created and a new world opened up to me. I often wonder how different my life would be if I hadn't have bumped into her that day. The people I wouldn't have met and the beautiful friendships that wouldn't have blossomed. The adventures I wouldn't have gone on and journeys to places I wouldn't have known existed. Couch surfing has brought such joy into my life and change the path I was walking on. I am forever grateful. I truly believe couch surfing is the best way to explore a country and to really connect with a culture and it's people.

Music, Movies & Books

At the moment I am listening to alot of Nosaj Thing, Devandra Banhart. I also like Helios, Massive Attack, Bonobo, Beck, Nicolas Jarr, The Black Keys, The Dandy Warhols, Jack White, Boards of Canada, Fat Freddy's Drop, 60's-70's music, soul, hip-hop, folk, instrumental, improvised...

Like most travellers my favourite movie is In To The Wild.
I like films based on true stories or events.

I also love a good documentary. David Attenborough, enough said.

I am only just opening up to the world of books. I recently finished Marching Powder and I am halfway through Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Next on my list to read is Dictatorship to Democracy.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

While travelling in Canada I was lucky enough to spend one night lying on a rooftop watching the Northern Lights dance across the sky. I was staying out on an acreage in Alberta with the great aunt and uncle of a friend of mine. I scaled a satellite pole and managed a meter's leap across to the roof of their two story house. My friends great uncle, well into his 70's joined me. We were both like two kids, unable to contain our excitement. I still don't know how the two of us managed to get up there, must have been adrenaline. But the lights, the lights were truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed.
