Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
To go outside of my comfort zone as much as possible as an attempt to expand it
ABOUT ME
I am 21 who currently resides in Boulder, CO. I spend the majority of my time going to school. Where I study physiology and Spanish, hang out with friends and cook. I absolutely love to cook and a fun weekend night for me could be making something delicious, eating while I relax and going to bed early. The other fun weekend night possibility would include going to happy hour or dinner or bbqing with friends, then headed out. This could be to socialize but I would ultimately always prefer to go dancing.
My other hobbies are determined by where I grow up. I have spent most of my life in small mountain towns, meaning that snowboarding takes up my winter and makes me unbelievably happy. My boyfriend is a professional skier, so I like to travel around to other ski resorts with them and explore the different mountains and their communities. In the summer I love to be in the water, which normally consists of rafting down the river or canoeing in a pristine glacier lake. I try to hike as often as possible.
My passion, like most others on this website, is to travel. All year long I plan trips to fill my summer with. I love to volunteer or go to school in some area of interest for a month or so and then continue traveling around for as long as my money will take me. Both of these experiences cause me to go outside of my comfort zone and every time I do that and come out ok I feel so fulfilled and happy. My favorite activities to do when traveling is to just read a good book and relax. I don't like to exhaust myself too much. I love to try the local cuisine and the food of that region often brings me there as one of the deciding factors to where to go. I love to meet new people as well as just people watch. I like learning about history and discovering local landmarks as well.
My other new desire is to see the wonders of the world. I have visited Machu Picchu, which I think about all the time. I have also visited Iguazu in Argentina and the wonders, whether they be man made or natural always prove to be fantastic. While I need to go absolutely everywhere in the world they are currently helping me dictate new places to go. My other passion is speaking Spanish (and soon to be Portugese) so those regions of the world are also of great interest and can't wait to explore more.
PHILOSOPHY
I am young and because of that I should do all that is a possibility to me. I love education and I want to know as much about everything that I possibly can. My obsession with education, whether that be how people live their lives or all about the body (because I study human physiology) keeps my constantly busy. I constantly strive to find a balance (because it's all about balance) between learning too many academics, which keeps my cramped in the library all day, and exploring. I think that so far I am doing a great job of exploring myself and my reactions to a variety of circumstances. I'm constantly excited for what is to come.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My cousin was the 1st one to introduce this website to me. As others have been known to do I started out hesitant. Then I as I explored the website I was left with nothing but great vibes. I think it's very important to learn more about a region by exploring the life of the locals. Homestays through programs are great but this website has the opportunity to do even more. I love that people can choose if you seem like a good fit or not so we all have the opportunity to make great new friends along the way. I agree with the philosophy of this website wholeheartedly and I'm so excited for the opportunities it holds.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't ever stayed on someone's couch through this website but this trip to Spain is going to be the trip for me! I expect this trip to be that much more incredible for this reason alone. I have had a few guests stay on my couch, not through this website, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Instead of retreating to my room to work I can sit in my own living room and get to know an exciting new person.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
A couple years ago I planned an eastern mediterranean cruise with 20 of my family members. Although cruises aren't my typical preference of travel, it was absolutely perfect for a family reunion. It was amazing to share places like Turkey, Bulgaria, and Ukraine with all of my family. We were building experiences together instead of sharing our individual experiences with one another, which is what usually happens. I love to experience places that aren't as westernized and really explore our differences. I would love to go back to really explore these places more but the reason it is amazing is two main reasons. First off, planning something like that it, was one of the greatest challenges and makes me feel like I plan any trip from now on. Secondly, being with my family and assisting with really bringing people together made me feel really great.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Something I would love to learn from anyone is what they love to eat and cook. I love to find new exciting foods and staying with new people will be one of the best ways to do this. For anyone who doesn't cook or doesn't know much about it I would love to teach a couple quick and simple meals to.
Overall the lists of things I am excited to learn from the people I stay with is endless. I would love to hear about new great books or movies. I love to do yoga and practicing with someone in their home or in the community would be a great experience. Also, I am interested in the history of every region I visit and would love to gain a more personal perspective from people, instead of learning from my textbooks.
