ABOUT ME

I have returned to CS in April 2014 following a long hiatus, and I was instantly glad to return.

Since 2011, I've lived in Chicago and spend most of my time in yoga, going to the theatre, trying new restaurants, seeing dance performances, going dancing, hanging out at the beach, rollerblading on the lakeshore trail, and generally socializing everywhere.

Before moving to Chicago, I lived in London and had the opportunity to travel through Europe, which was an experience that taught me just as much about myself as the cultures I encountered.

In college, I studied theatre, film, and gender studies, and any of those topics along with current events and pop culture will keep me interested for hours. I also tend to get really nerdy about history, government, human behavior, cosmology, costume history, and architecture.

I tend to make friends very easily and consider myself a fun and easy-going person. I think a lot, talk a lot, and laugh a lot.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently hoping to meet new people for drinks or coffee. I've surfed several times and hosted, and love doing both. You never know who you'll meet and what you'll learn.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined when I moved to London and it was the greatest way to meet new people. My experiences have been completely positive and enriching. I'm glad to be back!

Interessi

Theatre, film, costume history, Latin American theatre, museums, independent films, reading, traveling, people watching. I also really enjoy learning about other cultures and understanding the way people think and function.

I like all things cultural. I am a native Spanish and English speaker and I'd really like to learn French.

Classical films, many genres of music in various languages, and contemporary literature.

Going to the highest peak in Oia on the Greek island of Santorini and watching the sunset. Also driving along the Pacific coast in central California and camping in an ancient redwood forest.

I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and I'm really great at helping people feel more comfortable when they're learning either. I really enjoy teaching others.

I do yoga regularly and am really great at teaching poses that relax and strengthen.

I'm also really into current events, human behavior, gender theories, and cultural diversity.
