Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Edek (it's Polish), and I'm a student at the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. My life philosophy is to adventure as much as possible. I search for adventure through numerous avenues and I while I enjoy solitude in nature as relief from the chaos of a college campus and social life, I am incredibly grateful for the people I am able to meet and spend time with through traveling and adventuring in the outdoors.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My life philosophy is to adventure as much as possible, and doing so on the scale that I want to is only feasible if I plan and stay financially responsible! Couchsurfing is a fantastic method of travelling cheaply, and I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends!
Interests
I love rock climbing, travelling, hiking, driving to the next adventure with a good Spotify playlist, trail running, and camping. I also love taking care of plants (I worked in a flower shop for a summer and developed a deep respect for plant life!), woodworking, playing music, fixing bikes, I really want to try surfing, via ferrata, big wall climbing, scuba diving, snorkeling at a reef, visiting Tibet and Iceland, skydiving, and so much more. This world is so big and there is so much diversity - I want to experience as much as I can!

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up listening to classic rock but my musical tastes have branched out by learning multiple instruments including violin, guitar, and drums! When I am studying I like to listen to movie soundtracks, but I especially enjoy listening to funk while riding a bike or funky jam bands while driving.
I'm not much of a movie guy...I'd say my favorite movie is "campfire" - like just watching a campfire. My second favorite show is the stars, especially in a warm sleeping bag in a tent or hammock.
I love reading adventure books. My favorite author is Jon Krakauer, and my favorite book is Eiger Dreams. I also love The Wild Trees by Richard Preston and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked 42 miles of high peak trails (reaching the summit on a total of 6) in the Adirondacks in 2.5 days with pretty sparse amounts of food and water.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't shy away from maintenance work -- I will wash dishes, make my bed, wash your dog (I love dogs by the way), take your dog for a walk, clean -- anything to show my gratitude!
