Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine I met in Madagascar recommended this site as a great way to meet new people and see the best of every place I'm going. Since those are the two main reasons I'm travelling, couchsurfing sounds perfect!

Interests

Sport- I mainly play football (soccer) and American football, but I love rugby and also enjoy swimming fairly regularly.
Music- I've got a pretty wide-ranging taste in music, but I'm particularly a fan of rock.
Video games- yes, like many others I do play video games, especially PC games.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A year ago, I was a paying volunteer in a pilgrimage to Lourdes, despite not being very religious at all. The pilgrimage brought many sick catholics to this famous Catholic place of healing. As a volunteer, I was part of a great team that cared for the especially sick pilgrims, who had to be cared for 24/7 in a medical ward. That meant two 6 hour shifts a day, including night shifts from 12:30-6:30am. I got on average 2 hours sleep a night that week, but I have never been more excited to have been part of such an amazing experience. The pilgrims themselves were amazing, always happy and grateful, even when we were waking them up in the morning (well, almost always)!
