About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work to live, play hard, share with others

ABOUT ME

Fun-loving, sarcastic, try to be more "glass half full" than empty, word-smith, art-maker, adventurer. My most prevalent past-time is quoting Will Farrell or Chris Farley lines...don't judge! I also read...memoirs and historical fiction mostly (try on "Don't lets go to the dogs tonight" by Alex Fuller for a slice of life, or "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" for a reality check). I can't just sit around...you'll find me hiking, camping, dancing, painting, running (just completed my first half marathon!).

PHILOSOPHY

Remain dynamic, create a global community, and at the right time ask for the simplicity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been "couchsurfing" with friends and family for the greater part of the fall and winter. But now, let's make it official!

Interests

well...art, music, culture, languages, conversation that counts, wine and cheese, keeping fit and eating healthy, new people, new places for sure.

Music, Movies, and Books

THE NATIONAL, the Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, Margo and the Nuclear So & So's, classics like Simon and Garfunkel and CSN&Y, Eef Barzelay as of late.

The Art of Pilgrimage, Poisonwood Bible, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Scribbling the Cat and Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two spaces where, even if you look real hard, you cannot see signs of human intervention:
1) where the bay meets the Indian Ocean as seen from the Northern tip of Inhaca Island, Mozambique
2) the panoramic view of interior Alaska atop the granite tors in Alaska State Park, Fairbanks, AK

Teach, Learn, Share

Visual art, many forms of dance, tree species native to interior Alaska, aforementioned Chris Farley quotes, elementary brick laying, handstands and cartwheels, a few key phrases in Romanian, Portuguese, Spanish, German, and Shangaan, and other virtually useless bits of info.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Mexico, Mozambique, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
