About Me

ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be very curious, adventurous, a faithful friend and always open to learn from everyone. I think that I have been very lucky to have the chance to live in this world so I try to enjoy this opportunity in the best way.
I have studied anthropology at the University in Barcelona and music (Sonology bachelor) at Koncon (The Hague). I love traveling and exploring the world. It's very exiting to meet people from different places. Sharing knowledge, visions and opinions is one of the most stimulating sports. Teach and learn.

I also love photography and filmmaking. And it's being currently my main job. I have been working in the TV as a music editor for a while, and now I am a freelancer filmmaker mainly specialised in short documentary and music topics. You can check my work in my website ;) (www.eduardfigueres.com)

PHILOSOPHY

I am happy of being happy (eternal happiness loop)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like meeting people form everywhere, hearing about their traditions and experiencies. I am "too curious" and I usually ask a lot of things about your culture and your country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started to practise couchsurfing during my trip around Russia, Mongolia and China (july-september 2012), and the experience was amazing. I met very nice people everywhere. This is a video I made about this trip:

7865km ON THE RAIL - from Moscow to Beijing

I've kept on CS hosting people in Barcelona and The Hague, and I've been hosted in other trips to France, India and Iran.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS
Cien años de soledad (garcía marquez), moby dick (herman melville), ensayo sobre la ceguera (Saramago), The lord of the rings (tolkien), on the road (J.Kerouac), El Quijote (Cervantes)...

MUSIC
When I was a kid I wanted to be blues man. In order to learn the secrets of the blues, I was about to sell my soul to the Devil but my mother didn't allow me. So I decided to learn the secrets of Rumba Catalana as I didn't have to sell any soul to any Devil. I love jazz, blues and latin music. In fact, I enjoy any music if it's played with passion, from early music, classical music, rock, flamenco, world music, electronica to any funky groove.
I mainly play the saxophone but I can also play the trumpet, guitar, congas, bongo and accordion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the big Sierra Maestra in Cuba, following the way of El Che and Fidel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some guitar tricks if you want to play "The Catalan Rumba".
I like cooking the traditional Tortilla (Spanish omelette) and gazpacho (Spanish tomato soup).
I can teach how to climb trees and I want to learn how to cimb rocky mountains.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always bring a good camera with me, so I can take some good pictures of you or things that you like, edit them and and share them with you.
