About Me
(Not in Spain at the moment)
Hello! My name is Edurne, but most of my friends call me Eddie (I have a pretty hard name). I was born in Madrid (Spain), where I studied Journalism and Media Studies (specialized in Cinema). I did one semester abroad in Sheffield (United Kingdom) and after that, I moved to Tokyo to work for a year and to Kenya for another year. I love to learn new languages and to travel and live in different places. I also love to meet locals and unique and interesting people from whom I can learn things about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I'm traveling, I find it a bit hard to meet locals and I feel I'm missing some real experiences because of that. I would have to make real connections with people from all around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎬 Cinema is my great passion, I've seen more than 2.000 films and rated them on my Filmaffinity/Senscritique. Some of my favourites:
El Sur (Víctor Erice, 1983) 🇪🇸
Un long dimanche de fiançailles (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2004) 🇫🇷
Call me by your name (Luca Guadagnino, 2017) 🇮🇹
Hauru no Ugoku Shiro (aka El castillo ambulante/ Hayao Miyazaki, 2004) 🇯🇵
🎧(Rock, Jazz and Instrumental) Talking Heads, Fleetwood Mac, The Cure, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mammal Hands...
📚I love reading and I do it mostly in Spanish, English and French. Here are some of my favorites:
O Meu Pé de Laranja Lima (José Mauro de Vasconcelos, 1968) 🇧🇷
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Milan Kundera, 1984) 🇨🇿
L'Élégance du hérisson (Muriel Barbery, 2006) 🇫🇷
El rayo que no cesa (Miguel Hernández, 1936) 🇪🇸
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I did a road trip in Alaska and another time I pet a baby elephant in a rescue centre in Kenya.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the languages I know (Spanish, English and French) and some traditional dishes from my country (bare in mind that I'm vegetarian).
I am learning Japanese and Swahili and I would like to know how to play drums, code and draw.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share the languages I know, the stories from my trips, my cooking skills (still developing) a broad smile and ears for listening.
