Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm planning on travelling again in the next few weeks for a bit and heard great things about Couchsurfing as a way to meet interesting locals who can really help in getting to know a place beyond the tourist attractions.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is always a tough one to start because I could go on forever listing films and music. I'll happily listen to most genres of Music, but I'd say at the minute the main type of stuff I listen to is by Nicolas Jaar, Anderson Paak, Bonobo, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, A tribe called quest, etc and then of course lots of Irish music as well as a lot of 60s/70s i.e. Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Stevie wonder, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

Some of my favourite films are Goodfellas, City of God, There will be Blood, The big lebowski, Birdman. Anything by Martin Scorsese is always up there for me.

Finally for books, the last couple of years have been taking up with the A song of Ice and fire series, and I'm now currently reading Papillon, a very good french book written by a man about his attempts to escape the Penal settlements in French Guiana.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went for a few hour hike in the mountains and got trapped up there in a thunderstorm as it washed the bridges away, ended up being a day and half before getting back without any food or dry clothes or proper hiking gear, probably more stupid than Amazing bit it's what sprung to mind. I also went on a 5 hour hike in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise which was a great experience.
