A food and drink/business/finance journalist. I have just quit my job to travel across South America so hoping to meeting lots of locals and become immersed in the culture to learn how the continent ticks. Will be freelancing and doing lots of writing about the local food. Outgoing and friendly person who likes to drink red wine and meet new people from new places. Vociferous reader and lover of music and films. My favourite writer is George Orwell. I love old world cinema, especially the French New Wave and Italian Neo-Realism - but also a big fan of Kurosawa films. As for music, I'm an indie boy at heart and anything from Manchester is likely to get me dancing. Think The Stone Roses and The Smiths.

Hoping to meet friendly, kind and interesting characters to learn about different cultures and gain an insight into South American living. Would like to be shown the food scene in different cities across the continent and find the best places that locals eat. I'm also trying to learn Spanish so would be great to exchange languages - my English for your Spanish. At the moment I only understand the basics but would like to improve and will be taking lessons at language schools. Would also be great to swap stories and for you to learn about England as well.
