About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Be Kind.

ABOUT ME

*** I am a bit busy with school as a teacher and a grad student, my hosting ability would be limited. But, do feel free to ask. BUT please do not ask a month ahead of your arrival. I don’t want to commit unless I know I would be capable to host.****

I am a Los Angeles native. I have lived here for 20+ years. I love to show others the city and help them discover it's real nitty-gritty and beautiful self. I lived in the San Francisco Bay area when I studied English Lit. and Rhetoric at Cal. It is through my time there that I learned to love to travel, but more importantly to engage with people of other cultures.

PHILOSOPHY
"Try Again, Fail Again, Fail Better" -Samuel Beckett
Learn from failure, because you learn more about yourself if you try and fail than if you simply succeed.
Don't be nice, Be kind.
"Be Good or Be Gone" -McSorley's Old Ale House
Be the kind of person you want to be with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I help travelers discover Los Angeles. It is the city I grew up in and with. I love this city and want people to have the best experience they can in it. I go to CS events; as well as, organize some. AND, from time to time I host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first surfed in Argentina in January '13. I am really thankful to my first host for introducing me to their country and for teaching me how to be a good host and surfer.
Since then I have hosted many individuals in Los Angeles and have also stayed with multiple friends I have made through CSing. My hosting experiences have all been great ones. You can read about them in my references.

From June 2017 - Dec. 2018, I was the main event organizer of the Weekly Couchsurfing Meet-up in Los Angeles. Through these meet-ups I tried to foster a sense comradery for all locals and travelers to the LA.
