About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm graduating in May from Arizona State University with a major in Elementary Education. I'm currently student teaching at an elementary school with fifth grade students. I love working with children and have decided to give back to my country by joining the Americorps. I was accepted into the CalSERVES program in Santa Rosa California so I will be moving there in August of this year to work with children as a tutor and teacher. I'm super excited for the experience and the move. My goal is to move out of Arizona and live in as many states as possible and eventually out of the country.
PHILOSOPHY
I just live my life day to day and concentrate on the positive. I like to enjoy every moment of the present, not dwell on the past because it can't be changed anyway, and not live my life planning for the future because when one concentrates on the future they forget about the present.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading: Albert Camus, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, The Vagina Monologues, Election, The Prestige, Speak, and tons more including children's literature.
Music: Incubus, The Cranberries, Armor For Sleep, Lydia, Tool...
Movies: Garden State, Amelie (love foreign films), The Prestige, Election, Memento. I also love watching movies with subtitles on, just because I like to read when I watch movies.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love literature and film. I recently took a lit/film course that illustrated the movement from novel to the big screen and the most intriguing concept I learned was that films are an adaptation and an art that takes an idea from a novel and transforms the idea into something else and that is why books and movies should not be compared- because they are not meant to be. I always hated movies or shows that originated from books because I felt that the new media did not do the original justice and was far off from the original text; but after this course I realized that the new media was supposed to be seen as it's own entity and not a copy of the original. Now I can appreciate films in their own right.
