ABOUT ME

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, went to school in Northwest Ohio, studied in Rio de Janeiro, and moved to Chicago upon graduation in 2008. Chicago is a great place for me -- I ride my bike everywhere, go out to eat too often, take advantage of cultural opportunities when I have free time, enjoy the parks when it's warm, and appreciate the quiet when it's cold. I'm optimistic, genuine, and honest. I enjoy all kinds of people and am to meet people and learn more about cultures different from my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

I just finished City of Thieves by David Benioff, which gives great perspective into the conditions Russians lived under during WWII. Right now I'm reading Boss: Richard J. Daley of Chicago by Mike Royko. I find Chicago politics very interesting. Oh, and the Game of Thrones Series, HP, Hunger Games, etc.

I usually agree with critics, but can sometimes enjoy an outrageous, over-the-top action movie once in a while. Some favorites that stick out in my mind are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, City of God, The Departed, Inglorious Bastards, and Pan's Labyrinth.

Most of the music I listen to would be considered indie rock. Some of my more recent favorites are Monsters of Folk, The Decemberists, Hot Chip, Girls, Dr. Dog, Passion Pit, xx, Surfer Blood, Justice, Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Janelle Monae, and Vampire Weekend. I love seeing live shows!
