ABOUT ME

I am shy at first, but I warm up fairly quickly :-)

No matter what, hot chocolate makes me feel cozy, and Monty Python makes me feel happy and silly.

I love reading, and watching movies, as well as fun nature walks and outdoor adventures! Beer is also good.

I am horribly unoriginal in my music taste, I listen to whatever people recommend to me, and rarely am able to match the name of a band to the name of a song. *sigh*

I am also very gullible, which is entertaining for some people, including myself... just thought I'd throw that out there...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last summer I travelled around with my sister couchsurfing for 6 weeks and LOVED it... 100% planned on returning all the love by hosting fellow surfers while I studied in Victoria, and unfortunately the few requests that came while I was there were during times I was unable to host, although there were lots of lovely coffee meetings... OR I have been bombarded with messages (although they should have been in couchrequest form *hint hint*) during the summer when I'm not there... *sigh*. It's my goal to FINALLY host more than a coffee meeting when I'm back in Victoria in JANUARY 2012. It will happen.

I am going to make a fancy list of the lovely folks who have hosted me when I figure out how...

5 random guys in ponchos and sombreros coming into the UVic main cafeteria with guitars and ukuleles, playing, singing and dancing to Feliz Navidad to wish us all a merry Christmas... gotta love student spirit.

Driving through Tsawwassen and Victoria, seeing huge groups of kids out skating on homemade outdoor ice rinks (fields that have been flooded and frozen), playing hockey

I don't think I can explain what I have to bring to the table, but I believe that this couchsurfing community creates a space or situation for this exchange of "knowledge", be that life skills, practical skills, or even just by enriching your knowledge of other cultures or ways of life.

I also cook a mean chicken parm.
