Home is where the heart is
All about me? How about just a little bit?
Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, a real suburban girl at heart (I like porch swings and neighbors who are like your family). But I find myself in New York City right now, and it seems to fit all right! I like to go out and have crazy nights, but sometimes just as happy staying home crocheting some formless lump of yarn (I'm not very good). I love children and cute fluffy animals (but really who doesn't?) and rice and pineapple and checking things off my to-do list.
I try to evolve. So try to create a better ME every day, because it is the one thing I can control.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Only couch surfed a couple of times now, but I really love it. I think it's a great system, and I love it when I get to meet couch surfers (I don't host much at the moment, but I keep running into surfers, by accident or through friends).
Thus far, my wonderful couchsurfing experience has been:
2 nights in Lille with Jeremy!
1 night in NYC with Thomas and Marie!
3 nights in Bristol with Robin!
4 nights in Athens with Christina!
1 night in Athens with Nikos!
1 night in London with Lisa!
1 night in Edinburgh with Darcy
1 with in Edinburgh Joao!
3 nights in Montreal with John!
2 nights in Raleigh with Alana!
2 nights hosting Asser in NYC!
7 nights hosting Polina in NYC!
I have had such a wonderful time with everyone, and this doesn't count all the CSers that I have met here and there, whether at CS events or just randomly!
-My sister Alyson :)
-Books--mostly old ones, mostly because I like the musty smell! yummy :)
-Astronomy (and astrology: guilty pleasure!)
-Painting (acrylics--you can make plenty of mistakes!)
-Organ donation (not an interest so much as something I feel strongly about...)
Music, Movies, and Books
Pride and Prejudice and everything Jane Austen. Count of Monte Cristo. Lord of the Rings. Jacques Brel is pretty cool too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It is in the everyday miracles of life that are the most extraordinary, when you hear a child speak for the first time or take their first steps, for example.
But on a grander scale, just recently, I saw a supernova through a telescope: now that is amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn ANY kind of new dance! From the funky to the refined: you'll find a willing, though uncoordinated, student in me :)
