ABOUT ME
I'm a really easy going guy. I get a long with pretty much everyone I meet and am pretty easy to please when it comes to most things. I enjoy all sorts of stuff (from sports, to the outdoors, to classical music, and fine literature).
I love new experiences and challenges. I haven't traveled outside of the USA as much as I would like to, and I'm hoping to change that in the future. I love to learn about different cultures and to find out what really makes people tick.
PHILOSOPHY
I seek to improve myself and the world around me. I do believe in God, and I do believe that there is much good in the world - I hope to find and expand that good.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly, I just found out about it so I'm trying to figure out how I can build the community. I've already told a few friends about it - and hopefully by sleeping on some couches I'll be able to have some great experiences and get other people involved.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well - I've slept on a lot of couches in my life, as well as a lot of floors, but I've never actually used this website before. I'm looking to have a great first experience.
Interests
I'm interested in pretty much everything - literally. In fact I switched majors in college about 6 times because I kept finding new things that I wanted to study.
- literature
- marathon
- music
- classical music
- outdoor activities
- surfing
- skydiving
- sports
Music, Movies, and Books
Books - all kinds. I'm kind of a nerd though, so if I have free time to read it's usually a book related to international development or one of the classics of literature.
Movies - again, I'm pretty easy to please. I definitely enjoy action films, but can even go for a good chick-flick every now and then.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Toured around Italy for a week! Swam in the Mediterranean, went to mass in St. Marks, saw the "David". It was great.
Skydiving, crowd surfing, climbed Mt. Shasta, ran a marathon. Things like that...
Teach, Learn, Share
What I would like to learn - I'd like to learn about the cultures I am going to. Again, I haven't traveled a whole lot, so I've got a good deal to learn in this area. Particularly I'm most interested in finding out what other cultures find to be most important - what drives them in the life.
What I can teach - I'm relatively handy around the house and in the yard. I also have a pretty good background in finance, so I'd be happy to help people getting control of their personal finances and budgeting.
