Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
9/2012: I have couch surfed on couches in France and Italy so far. I have hosted surfers in Wells, Me and Portland, ME.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My last roommate and I loved hosting and hosted often. Surfing has been almost all positive and amazing. One weird experience in Florence hasn't stopped my travel companions and I from having great experiences and meeting amazingly open and fun people. Particularly hanging out on the passeggiata in Viareggio and walking at night around Trastevere in Rome with new friends and cheap beer.
Interests
I love talking to people who have something to say. You always learn something from people who aren't afraid to be themselves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to the Middle East!
Walking around the ruins at Segesta in Sicily. Huge peaks and valleys, the ancient temple and the feeling of being in a timeless place.
One of my favorite places is Playa El Tunco in El Salvador. Big Pacific waves, ladies walking around selling plantain chips from baskets with chili, salt and lime. Amazing trip!
Lately, Sassoleone, Italy: watching new friends play the bells in the tower while we ate homemade prosciutto and drank homemade wine. Hiking trails through Cinque Terre in the middle of a thunderstorm. Facing my fears and going into the Capuchin crypt where there are thousands of preserved skeletons of long dead monks built as living art.
Teach, Learn, Share
One thing I've learned is to offer to cook someone a meal. It goes deeper than eating a meal, it bonds people through the process of sharing and enjoying something together.
