ABOUT ME

I am fascinated with the beauty, force and complexity of nature. Preferably, that is where I spent my time. I am interested in other countries and cultures and have traveled quite a lot, as well as lived in different countries around the world. I think there's no better way of exploring a country/city than with locals.

Currently my partner and I are developing a project to rediscover the Netherlands, our own country, looking for authentic places without the bus loads of tourists. See our website: mywoordenshoes.worpress.com.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I enjoyed hosting at my place in Utrecht. It has proved a great way to meet interesting and fun people from around the world!

Also, I met up with several couchsurfers on my travels :)

Working on disaster risk reduction in the Philippines | Climbing the Piz Buin (Austria) | Taking a pilgrimage up Adam's peak - 2350 m - at the middle of the night (Sri Lanka) | Riding on the roof of a train (Ecuador) | Dancing salsa in a club in Havana (Cuba).

After traveling the world I discovered that my own country has so much to offer, so now I am exploring close to home :)
