About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Remembering to laugh instead of getting frustrated.

ABOUT ME

I don't know where to begin. Well, like most people on couch-surf I am always up for adventure and meeting new people. I got my degree in cultural anthropology so those type of things associated with that are right up my alley including environmental and social justice.
I am currently an orientation and mobility specialist. For those of you who don't know what that is, (don't worry, many don't) it is a program designed to help blind people learn about spatial concepts, body awareness, and social skill. However, it mostly focuses on how to teach blind individuals to travel safely in their communities. I currently work with children but I have worked with adults too. With every population I work with I say that they are my favorite. So we'll see what the future holds.
Anyway, more about me...hmmm. I've actually noticed the older I get the more of a hippie I become. Isn't it suppose to go the other direction? I even started making some of my own cleaning products so watch out ;).
Let's see, what else. My favorite thing to do is laugh. Several of my interest pull me in a lot of different directions but more importantly I just try to keep an open mind in as many aspects as possible. One of the weirdest things about me is that i hate peanut butter..i know..and I'm sorry. My room is almost always messy. However I do think I keep the rest of the house pretty maintained, at least I try. I'm growing as a cook, slowly but surely. Despite my small size I LOVE eating. Besides that I'm just trying to balance life as best i can with what it throws at me. That's all for now, the rest you'll figure out when you meet me.

PHILOSOPHY

-Embarrassing moments were made to share with people.
-Never get stuck in your ways because that's when you stop learning.
-EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR THE BEST.
-Hugs are very important.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- Spaceballs, Dodgeball, and Waking Life are my top ones for right now.
Music- just about everything. i know that's a lame answer but it's true. however gangsta rap happens to be my guilty pleasure.
Books- Davinci Code, The Alchemist, Ishmael, and most importantly..Vagina Monologues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to New Zealand and South Korea all by myself without knowing anyone and made those experiences the most wonderful ones of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to share anything I know about life and/or any of the things listed in my interests. Besides that there is no telling what anyone could learn from me. Everyone has a purpose for all of the lives they touch. My purpose for one person is probably completely different from the next...things i want to learn? hmm, i want to learn anything that you are willing to teach. i do want to learn another language before i die but i don't expect the person sleeping on my couch to do that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, China, Fiji, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Thailand
