Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love human beings and travelling more than anything! Couchsurfing is where these two beautiful things meet as it's based on simple sharing: something that's so deeply rooted in us humans, and something that is constantly being taken away form us by the whole hustle & bustle of contemporary world. let's get back to basics & be open and real!
thanks to Couchsurfing I was able to hitchhike around my dreamland - Iceland - at the age of 18 (straight after graduating from art high school, with no money and heart full of naivety). meeting all the unique & interesting hosts has opened my eyes: I was welcomed to a global community of open individuals who are willing to share their lives with a stranger, as our little interactions are what makes the world a more welcoming place.

Music, Movies, and Books
music is such a great passion of mine and I really just adore it too much! a dream gig would consist of my favourite men in music - David Bowie, Nick Cave & Beck; accompanied by The Cure, Queen &The Killers, finished off with Róisín Murphy & Björk to represent the ladies. and maybe a whole bunch of acts from the 60's & 80's just to spice it all up.
if my life was a movie, it would definitely be Amelie Poulain by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. also I'd love to spend a fair bit of time in Wes Anderson's world. plus I simply adore David Lynch (Twin Peaks!), modern documentaries and indie films.
my all time favourite book is Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne: it has helped me accept myself during my childhood/teenage years. also I find poetry to be a truly healing genre, with a whole pile of books by Lithuanian poets living on my bedside table. I also adore dystopian literature, 19th century Russian literature, absurd literature and memoir books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I started my scruffy traveling adventures at the age of 11, when I went on a first month long road trip around Europe with my dad who's a lorry driver. I have spent all of my teenage summers this way, six of them if I'm correct. believe me, there's nothing more intimate than listening to retro pop music with your dad while driving trough a Mont Blanc tunnel...I still remember it quite clearly.
