ABOUT ME

I've been lucky to have family anywhere I go, and I'm working my way into hopefully being a person that can be family everywhere I go.

Born in the West Indies, grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, got learning all about the place, currently a certifiable tree hugger with a penchant for occasional relapses into east coast humor, and it's anyone's guess from here.

Now working on the good fight (hopefully) in human rights law, and, for the moment, set up in Johannesburg and up for some adventuring!

5'3, loves dinosaurs and useless animal facts, and am an honest to goodness history nerd.

PHILOSOPHY

So this whole Marcus Aurelius/Montaigne fix, getting life down to a couple of things that it's always good to live by has always interested me - so far I've found two: (It's hard! Try it!) Live with your actions in accordance with your principles (it sounds way too simple to be useful, but it has actually gotten me out of a few binds) and second, any time you have a chance to do something different - do it. Whether it's a new corner coffee shop or a last minute invitation to Costa Rica, it's likely worth it. (I'm young, I know I know absolutely nothing worth sharing).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really really interested in amateur carpentry. I've tried my hand at a couple of things, and am always interested in building, fixing, imagining, whatever when it comes to actually physically creating something. Growing up West Indian, I've always had a propensity to make myself useful, and am pretty happy to be useful in any way I can. Anything I can learn about power tools makes me excited, and anything about anything Stephen J. Gould would find interesting, because he gets science like I get history, and I love that. All I can offer in exchange for learning is making delicious things to eat (I'm not a Great cook, but a very happy one, and I'm pretty good at picking the right beer.)
