Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I have met many interesting people in interesting places, and I want to continue to make new friends and explore!
ABOUT ME
I love to travel, meet people, and experience places both familiar and new. I study environmental science and field biology, and I was raised on a chestnut and apple farm, so I like to spend time outdoors. I'm friendly, easy-going, but also hard-working, and smile a lot.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to find joy and peace and to share those things with others. I love to learn, explore, laugh, and have fun, and I like to find others who also love those things. My grandfather gave me the advice I live by, "Leave the world a better place than you found it."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a world-traveller for most of my life and I strongly support the sharing of cultures, ideas, and understanding that CS promotes. What better way to learn about people and make friends than to share one's home and a small part of one's life?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of my CouchSurfing experiences have been good. I've stayed with friendly and interesting people, and shared coffee and drinks with others. I'm grateful to the whole CouchSurfing community for sharing their homes and lives.
Interests
I love the outdoors, nature, science, natural history, and especially bodies of water. I like outdoor recreation like hiking and skiing.
I'm a musician, I've played in several bands, and I love impromptu jam sessions.
Dancing--I love all types of dance such as folk dancing and ballroom dance
Really, I love learning, so I'm interested in almost everything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a passion. I love listening to folk music of all kinds. I also love playing any type of music and jamming with other people. I play all types of percussion, such as drum kit, bongos, spoons, xylophone and others.
I also love to read, but recently my college studies have kept me from pleasure-reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When traveling in Kazakhstan with my family and a close Kazakh friend, we visited his childhood village. The location was beautiful and breath-taking, and our visit with the local people was friendly and heartwarming. But it was especially fascinating because we were the first Americans that the villagers had seen and the first time they had heard English spoken. Sometimes the world seems so small, but other times we're reminded how large it actually is.
I've had many amazing moments while traveling, so just ask if you want to know more. :-)
