I am a 31 year old American with the goal to travel every single country over the next 10 years.
Sure lots of people love to travel but it's a lot more than that for me. For me, travel is life. My most important life experiences have come from traveling. My closest friends were made from traveling. It is my ultimate passion. I plan to be nearing completion around 2035.

I spent nearly 6 months a year from 2015-2020 backpacking the world. Unfortunately, the pandemic slowed my travel progress, However, since then, I am back on the travel grind and am still spending about 6 months per year abroad. Recently, I have taken shorter trips focusing on one geographical area at a time (3-month trip twice a year as opposed to a single 6-month trip)

Overall, I have spent more than 48 FULL MONTHS backpacking the world, to 100+ countries.

I graduated from university in 2015 and moved to China to teach English. That exposed me to the world and still has been the most important decision of my life. Although I no longer teach, I still hold that dearly in my heart.

I believe in a life filled with compassion, generosity, open-mindedness, and love towards everyone. I believe I bring a positive energy that I carry with me, everywhere I go. Having a positive outlook no matter the circumstance makes all the difference. Life is too nice, we cherish everything we have. I am also prone to saying "yes" to any adventure.

I am hoping to spend at least ONE night with a local host in 100 different countries. I feel that would be another level to local travel.

I like to travel locally. I want to meet the people everywhere I go. Hostels/Guesthouses/Hotels are easy. I can surely have a great experience in any of them, but, I want to have the memory of any place I go of someone local whom I spent time with.

The main reason I am here is to meet locals wherever I go in the world. This allows me to meet new people, make new friends, and have experiences with locals. I am here to learn cultures, meet locals, and share my life with the people who are kind enough to host a stranger in their own home.

I've had some great experiences through couchsurfing which have resulted in some great stories. I have traveled a ton and the best memories I have are with the locals. I am at a point in my life where I want to form genuine connections that will last. Couchsurfing is my way of doing this.

Unfortunately, I have NOT hosted anyone on couchsurfing yet, but there are two reasons for that. If you ask me, I will share why.

I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures and religions, watching TV, playing basketball, and just hanging out and relaxing. I love to eat street food but also enjoy eating sushi, which is my favorite thing to eat. I plan to eat sushi in 125 countries.

I studied Spanish for 1.5 years in highschool, but still consider myself conversational advanced. I taught English in China to primary school students! I have wonderful stories from my recent travels over the past few years.
