About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Train for a long distance hiking trip

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty genial guy. I like to think I'm at least passably cultured. I tend to think up questions that I find interesting and ask the people around me what their answer would be. I get along with most everyone, but I definitely like some time to myself. I'm not a native Texan, but am in fact a transplant from the great northern wilds of Wisconsin.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to find meaning in everything I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can offer my place to crash and be your tour guide(obviously only if I'm free) in and around the central Texas area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was stranded in downtown Seattle with my bags when I missed my bus. Within 5 minutes of posting an emergency couch surf request, I was on the phone with another CSer who told me which buses to take to get to his place. Once I was there, we drank PBR and watched a Charlie Chaplin film. I love this website.

Interests

I love the outdoors, so that encompasses a few different interests. I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and geocaching. I find a lot of satisfaction in other, more domestic hobbies as well, such as cooking, baking, brewing, and gardening. Primarily though, I do not own a car and so I bicycle everywhere. In the course of making this my main mode of transportation, I've grown to love bicycling and it has become on of my major hobbies.

Climbed to the top of Emory Peak and looked out across the Chisos Basin and the Chiuhuahuan desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play guitar and piano and have for a decent amount of time. I can teach both. Cooking is also a hobby of mine. I can make a damn good salsa from scratch, among other things, and would be willing to show you how.
