About Me

Please read the "How to write a couch request" further down before messaging me - I also highly recommend keeping it in mind when writing to other hosts, they will appreciate it! :)

I'm a very social, friendly, outgoing and happy swing dancer. I work full time in IT mainly as a network technician/technical supply manager, but it's a small company, so I have many tasks. On my spare time I dance and instruct Rock Step swing, but I also like to "fake" other dance styles, like Salsa, West Coast swing and Boogie Woogie.
I keep myself busy a lot of the time since I love being with people rather than just sitting at home, but when I do end up at home I enjoy a bit of retro gaming (SNES, N64 and so on).

HOW TO WRITE A COUCH REQUEST (inspired by TomBro):

Write DATES. - Apart from the prerequisite rules, this is 50% of your chances to get hosted... For some reason many people skip this...(?!)

Describe shortly EVERY person travelling. - The other 50%. I like interesting, fun and weird people :)

Mention CLEARLY (explicitly) that you are fine with these rules (I only have 2, shouldn't be a problem, right?):
#1 My place is open as long as I am home. So you would have to go out in the morning when I go to work (varies between 7:45 and 11:45), and would be able to come back "home" only with me or after me (ca 8 hours later, unless I have other stuff on the agenda as well).
#2 Smoking is ONLY allowed on the balcony (I don't care how bad/cold the weather is :P). This is not negotiable.

The main option for sleeping is a pull out couch in the living room. My roommates bed if you're lucky, or he is not at home, and he accepts it :P But the couch is comfy, I have tested it myself :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet new people, because people are awesome! And at the same time I can help someone live cheap in a very expensive city, which is also awesome. Also I have a big pull out couch which is a pity not to let people take advantage of..
Other benefits are of course that I feel I am not nearly good enough at being a tourist in Oslo/Norway and having couchsurfers could give me an excuse to go out and see the sites more often,

Music, Movies, and Books

Always so many to choose from and current mood affects preferences, of course. But some examples:

Music: Pentatonix, Pink Floyd, Swing music, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M, Muse, Dream Theater, Green Day, Disney and so on. Too many to list.
Movies/series: The Bucket List, Fight Club, Dr. Who, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Firefly, Guardians of the Galaxy, Pulp Fiction , all things Disney...
Books: Harry Potter, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many awesome experiences. Hard to name one but maybe:
Travelling through the mid and south of Madagascar, through the vastly different areas, from rainforests to mountains and plains. Meeting lemurs in the one place they actually live naturally. A fantastic family trip exploring our heritage and my great grandfathers influence as a missionary, decades ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Swing, and probably other things that I just don't feel confident enough in to write as a "promise" here. Guitar maybe?
Learn: Anything? Learning new stuff is always fun!
Share: Experiences/stories, my home, norwegian quirks (then again, maybe a traveller will be even better at teaching ME about them). Travel, if we hit it off :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Much the same as the "share" with couchsurfers. Except for my apartment of course. Unless my hosts come to visit Oslo.. Then I'd be more than happy to return the favour!
