Trying to learn a bit of spanish in order to survive in Columbia in March!

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly, open minded person. I love to meet new people and get to know other countries and cultures.
Maybe I can get to know countries I haven't been to through people from there surfing my couch.

PHILOSOPHY

I think you should do everything, to be as happy as possible. And I don't think that happiness comes with money. Of course you need some money, so you don't have to worry all the time, but there are far more important things in life (family, partner, friends).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed some couches in South Africa with my girlfriend in November 2011, which was a great experience. Nice people and a good time!
Sadly, my room is just a little too small to be able to host someone and we don't have a guestroom. Maybe I will be able to host people in my next home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only positive! As already said, I was in South Africa. We surfed a couch in Johannesburg and two couches in Cape Town. The people that hosted us were very friendly.

Music: Open for almost everything. Things I listen to at the moment: Reggae, Rock, Drum'n'Base and discovering new music.

Movies: There are alot of movies I have enjoyed, too many to list them. I like Comedies and Movies you have to use your brain for but I don't like Horror Movies. Example for very good Movies: Figt Club, Inception, Requiem for a Dream, The Game

Books: Currently reading "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follet and enjoying it alot!

I've lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti for almost 5 years (from 1997 to 2001). I was very young at that point, probably too young to really appreciate the opportunity given. Yet it was an interesting and truly amazing time, though not always easy. It has influenced me alot and I look forward to returning to Haiti some day.
