ABOUT ME

I was born in a small town in western Kentucky where i lived until I was 19. I moved to Virginia where I spent most of my adult life. I'm a writer in my spare time. I love to dance, hate to shop, can skin a catfish, start a fire with one match and bake a great pie. I start conversations in elevators and bars, often meeting people who have become lifelong friends that way. I have three adult children and three grandsons on opposite coasts (DC and Seattle).

I am an avid reader, two or three books a week on a variety of subjects. I favor historical fiction, si-fi, biographies but my current favorite is "A thousand white women" by Jim Fergus. Music, most any but partial to rock. Movies when I find time, most recently saw War Horse, Bridesmaid, all time favorite likely is Dances with Wolves

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I grew up in rural kentucky but have lived in Virginia, Washington DC, NewYork City, and now Denver. I have been in every state except Maine, Hawaii and Alaska. I have traveled to Mexico, Canada, UK and Europe. The most amazing thing I've done is climb Old Rag Mountain in the Blue Ridge with my then 30 year old daughter and all the while believing each foot step would be my last.

When my children were young I did a lot of volunteer work, scouts (boy and girl), Odyssey of the Mind, room mother and "my mom will drive". I worked in the public schools with special needs children for 10 years. I love writing and have published a few things. I learned all the domestic arts at my mothers knee and enjoy cooking and entertaining.
