CURRENT MISSION

Currently I am vacationing in the USA, will be driving the west coast from LA-Seattle visiting friends along the way and camping out to get the most of the great nature reserves California, Oregon and Washington have to offer! Then hitting the east coast

Interests

I play saxophone, spend a lot of free time going to shows. Generally like the arts, everything from street art and punk rock, through architecture and traditional irish tunes to sculpture and free jazz!
I'm admittedly a bit of a nerd, and love playing games, not into video games, but love strategy board games like settlers of catan (and everything klaus Teuber made) and have a slight addiction scrabble! Games of dice or cards are always welcome too, and having just learnt backgammon I'd love to practice!
I also love to cook and bake, and always love hearing new recipes and trying out new dishes!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a wide variety of tunes, nothing very mainstream (and by that I mean over produced, chart topping boy band type stuff) I play in a ska punk band at home, and love to hear new music! With books I'm currently reading the game of thrones series, I purposefully haven't watched any of the TV series, so no spoilers please!
I enjoy a bit of fantasy generally, Philip Pullman, Raymond e. Feist etc but also love the like of Bernard Cornwell, Cormac McCarthy, and plenty more!
Movies, I'll give anything a shot, but Wes Anderson, the Cohen brothers and Spielberg have been responsible for some favourites!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to think I'm a considerate guest in anyone's home. I've been lucky enough to make friends with many people in many interesting places, and time permitting I always try and cook a meal to enjoy with my host to show my appreciation, I find it's a nice way to get to know someone a little better, and to set aside some time to repay some of the hospitality! I always make sure to tidy up after myself, and make an effort to keep my things as compact as possible!
Depending on the host, I like to get to know who I'm staying with, share some stories and experiences...but equally I'm very independent, and if you're busy I'll not take offence or eat up too much of your time!
While I do smoke, I have never smoked in my own home, I'm more than happy to smoke outside, but equally if that's an issue I'll not take offence.
