ABOUT ME

The three best compliments I have ever received are, in order:
1) "You are very science"
2) "You're the sanest person I know"
3) A musician friend wrote a song that he said was inspired by me, and it's an awesome song.

I live in sunny ol' Austin, Texas, where I spend my time being a student, eating tacos, and melting. I work for IT at my university, and live with my boyfriend in a room full of musical instruments and Christmas lights.

I'm studying French and multimedia, which pretty much means film, photography, and web design.
I'm a traditional pop-culture nerd, I love Star Wars/Trek, sci-fi in general, LOTR (the movies rock but the books are my jam), etc.

I play guitar in a just-for-fun kind of way.

I've been taking karate for 3 years and am about one year away from black belt (if I don't start sucking).

I have a motorcycle that keeps my commute to school/work something to look forward to.

Je parle le français couramment, mais je ne suis pas encore éloquent. J'aimerais trop avoir quelqu'un avec qui je peux m'entrainer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed for the first time in France. We needed a place to stay so we could go see a Yann Tiersen concert. It was a great experience and I met wonderful people.

Interests

Science, technology, linguistics, web design, film making, music. I know these are all pretty vague, but I'm more or less interested in everything about them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The day I spent hiking in the Atlas mountains is a day I wish I could live again and again.
