100 year old man who climbed out a window and disappeared, Fault in our stars, Life of Pi, Kite Runner, The Passage, Under the dome, Phillip Pullman - Northern Lights trilogy, Neil Gaiman books. Anything clever, thought provoking or that offers me escapism from real life.
