About Me

I am lively soul looking to discover new places. I love meeting and connecting with people from around the world and hearing their stories. I always find it's the people you meet on a journey that make a place special for you.
I work as an Occupational Therapist in Stroke Rehab and find it a very rewarding job. I'm a vegan and love animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I've travelled before I've never needed to be as strict with my budget as I've been away for shorter periods of time. On my upcoming travels I'm hoping to keep it cheap and cheerful whilst also meeting locals and seeing their home towns from their perspective. I'd like to make friends around the world and return the favour for a couch to sleep on when I return to the UK.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love indie music and have been to Glastonbury festival a few times- it's the best place on earth! Although, I mostly listen to indie I do have quite an eclectic music taste and also love listening to some classical, blues, jazz, pop, R&B and rap. Basically anything I can get my hands on.

My favourite movies are No Country For Old Men, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Before Sunrise, Hook (from my childhood!). I love Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Flight of the Conchords, The Office and loads more!

When at home I do a book club with my friends so I've read a lot of books I otherwise wouldn't have over the past few years. I love being able to discuss a book afterwards and find it really enriches what you get out of it. My favourite books recently have been The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene, All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy, The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, Crustaceans by Andrew Cowan and Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee. One of my favourite books of all time is Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I attended a Vipassana meditation course this year. I found it the hardest thing I've ever done but got through the the end and so glad I did.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak English fluently and learnt British Sign Language but unfortunately don't speak any other languages. When I've met others who are learning English I'm more than happy to stay in touch so they get regular practice. I've seen quite a few places and am interested in many different things and people so love talking and listening about anything!
