About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Become a study abroad aficianado (and travel a whole bunch while I do it!)
ABOUT ME
In my 20's but reaching dangerously close to 30. I have been a vegetarian for a bit over 10 years, but I love carnivores and vegetarians just the same! :) I tend to travel on my own or in very small groups. Most of my travel have been journeys that have been for two months or longer, but I've been doing a lot more weekender trips lately with my 9 to 5 (sadly). I have lived in three east coast states (PA, VT, VA) in the past 18 months, and I'm learning more and more about what makes this country tick.
PHILOSOPHY
Every young adult needs to cross the United States at least once in their life. Or cross the ocean to another land. Preferably both, many times. I hope to help this happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been out of the loop for a while, but am looking forward to getting back in touch with the community! I am primarily interested in meeting up with folks for dinner/drinks for the moment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a live-in Manager for a year at a backpackers hostel in Philadelphia, which was almost like being a host every night for 50 of your favorite buddies. I have hosted with CouchSurfing and AirBnB and love meeting new people.
Interests
Urban biking, Improv Comedy, Learning more about painting and ceramics, reading up on Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, creating unique study abroad and study away programs for young adults (I know it sounds like work, but I kinda geek out about this one...)

Books: Can't get my head out of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy. I also have a soft spot for John Grisham.
Movies: What About Bob, Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine, Interview with the Vampire
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While in McLoed Ganj/Dharamshala in India I got a tip from fellow bvackpackers that the Dalai Lama was in town. The next day I found myself surrounded by Tibetan nuns and monks (and plenty of Westerners) while Archbishop Tutu and the Dalai Lama teased one another like old schoolmates and urged the world to commit to religious freedom. Amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am killer at finding cheap travel deals (airfare and hotels - I am awesome at finding a deal!). I love biking around the city when I'm home, and can make a mean thai curry and mulled cider. I would love to learn more about fun painting techniques!
Countries I’ve Visited
Bangladesh, Belize, India, Indonesia, United States
