About Me

I’m travelling through Japan as part of an English education program called Guy Healy :D

As a person I fluctuate between being sweet and silly (with a sometimes tendency to interrupt because I have something oh-so-essential to add) and being a hard-core science dork. I'd love to find a place where I can talk and eat with you. I wouldn't call myself an athlete, but I love rock climbing or anything else that involves movement- hiking, dancing, kayaking, exploring museums... Essentially, I’m not a couch potato. We would probably get along if you are an explorer, too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an exciting way to get in contact with locals or other travelers for an authentic introduction to a city! myself occupied if you only want an unobtrusive guest.

Interests

I have a degree in biology, with minors in geology and history. I honestly love learning about the world around me, and that includes documentaries, going to museums, exploring the opinions of my friends and looking at new landscapes! I jump at every opportunity to rock climb or be surrounded by animals and people. I’m a chatterer, and could walk and talk for hours with a complete stranger.

Music, Movies, and Books

Long list, and it is constantly changing. One of my all time favorite book series is the Clan of the Cave Bear, but love lots of books that completely draw me into a different world- like Game of Thrones, the Temeraire series, or the Kiesha'ra Series. I love lots of movies, but horror is completely out of the question- I jump at my own shadow sometimes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011, I spent 3 weeks in the province of Rajastan (India). Summer 2015 I explored most of the major Israeli cities, and now I'm teaching across Japan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a pretty good understanding of the natural world, and love to share what I know, which I guess counts as teaching. I can make yummy grilled cheese sandwiches and some wicked pancakes, but otherwise I’m hopeless at cooking, To make up for this fact, I have a strong “you cook, I clean” motto which I intend to live by.

Countries I’ve Visited

India, Israel, Japan, United Arab Emirates
