About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go everywhere, see everything, meet everyone

ABOUT ME

I am a 23 year old AmeriCorps volunteer, I have not traveled nearly as much as I would like to in my lifetime, and am trying to negotiate the balance between being a 'responsible adult' and just traveling all the time.
Things I like: singing (shower, car, etc), dancing, photography, coffee, musicals, and summer thunderstorms.
I wish I could play the violin.
Things I don't like: wintertime, mushrooms, and math.
I'm terrible with directions, I get lost all the time.
I don't know what I want to be when I "grow up." When I was 9, I was going to be a writer. Now I'm thinking lawyer.
I want to move to San Francisco, and from there, who knows?
I believe in experiencing new things all the time, and I think beauty is good for the soul.
Also, you should probably know that I'm kind of a nerd. Just a warning.

PHILOSOPHY

You can never find the truth if you always know the answers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pretty much anything. Not a big fan of techno or rap, but every once in a while there's something I like. Other than that, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds, Belle & Sebastian, the Mountain Goats, Missy Higgins, Rufus Wainwright, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Movies: Good movies, especially thought-provoking ones. Why are the best movies always sad? When Harry Met Sally, Sophie's Choice, Moulin Rouge, Catch Me if You Can, the Princess Bride (who doesn't like that movie?), Das Leben der Anderen, X-Men (especially the Wolverine Origins one)

(Kind of) guilty pleasure: I love Glee.

Books: I just read the Poisonwood Bible and it rocked my world. Also, Jane Eyre was surpringly good, but Anna Karenina was not. One of my long-standing favorites is What Happened to Lani Garver? Check it out. Many more that I can't think of now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bathed elephants in a river in India. Completely zen. Completely amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can kind of cook but would love to learn more! I've gotten really into canning things lately.
... I think that's kind of it as far as useful skills go.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, India, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
