Overview
About Me
Hello people! I'm Elena, a 25 years old Italian girl. I am currently traveling around south east Asia with my boyfriend Davide since September! We both love traveling and meeting new people. We are using workaway and we also would like to try to get in touch with some locals through Couchsurfing. I already used Couchsurfing a few times but always with my friend's profile, so that's why this is brand new:)
About me: I've graduated from a master in anthropology and migration politics and I have worked in some refugees camps in Italy and in Greece both as a volunteer and a worker; I am part of an NGO (called Second Tree) which works in Ioannina (Greece) with syrian and afghani refugees. I had worked for them both on the fieldwork in the refugees camp, but also now from Italy helping with crowdfunding and document translations. I also teach English and French to young boys and girls. I have a long experience in babysitting, and also in the field of Education for the scouting experience. I'm also good at playing guitar or ukulele and cooking (especially italian traditional food).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm using workaway because I love meeting people and discovering new places and stories and because I will always choose someone's couch instead of a random hotel room that could be the same everywhere in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Two books that I'm carrying with me for long travels around the world are "Anatomy of restlessness " by Bruce Chatwin and "A fortune-teller told me" by Tiziano Terzani. Two great travelers and amazing writers that I love.
My playlist for a long bus ride or a flight can't miss Courtney Barnett, The cat empire, Bongo Botrako, Alt-j, Father John Misty, Iron and wine, The shins, the Antlers.
A movie: "Wish I was here" by the great Zach Braff
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just spent my birthday feeding elephant at a Malaysian elephant sanctuary, loved it!
