Helloooo!!! I will be here and there in Europe for the summer months as I am taking a few months break between studying for and applying to nursing school, and actually beginning (waiting to hear back from schools yikes!). I haven’t used couchsurfing in many years, mostly due to the pandemic and not living in a house that I could host in. I’m glad the platform made it through the pandemic and we might now connect!

Beyond trying to become a nurse I’ve been up to a few other things. Recently I spent time in New Orleans, Louisiana with my partner. He’s a musician who excitingly, just played at Jazz Fest for the first time! I got to New Orleans in April after finishing a job teaching after school science courses to elementary school children. When I arrived I put on a puppet show I had written, produced, and directed for the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival (my profile picture actually). The story was of a whale who carries the sun around the world for it to rise in the morning, then he catches it every evening.

I will be visiting Europe after many years. It will be a real treat since I lived in Italy as a kid and think fondly of that time and I am hoping to reconnect. As a guest I can offer cooking and good conversation as well as an accordion song or two (I’ve been learning :). I have been grateful to guests of mine for help building, painting, and other tasks, so I am open to helping out with home, work, creative, or community tasks as well.

Couchsurfing has been one of my most cherished travel experiences in the past. Not to mention, years ago I ran a mobile environmental museum (a couple pictures on my profile from that) and couchsurfing was vital in keeping that project going. And I feel proud of having hosted many Couchsurfers myself! Meeting new people and passing the time has been life changing in large and small ways. This is a really awesome community and so thank you for reading through this and being on here. Yay for meeting strangers!

I participate in couchsurfing because it is wonderful to meet people different than myself and then try to find common ground on which to converse! Additionally, I have met and been helped by so many people in my own travels. While I am not at home presently, when I am back and settled, I would love to be the one on the opposite end again.

兴趣

My interests include many outdoor activities like hiking, biking, backpacking, and stargazing. I am currently learning how to play accordion and while I certainly don't devote enough time to it, I am interested in the study of Iyengar yoga. I also enjoy reading, dancing, and agriculture, among many other things of course!

I've cycled the coast of Oregon into California on my own, camping, squinting, and smiling tons!

Last year for the very first time I played at an accordion festival! What a wacky time.
