About Me

ABOUT ME

I can be a bit quiet at times, but I am kind and inquisitive and love conversing with people. I am organized, clean, polite, and respectful. I adore learning. About anything. About people, places, history, books, science... anything. As for hobbies, I run nearly every day and am a bit of a bookworm. I am very driven and have worked hard throughout my educational career and hope to eventually work in urban planning and community development to promote social and environmental sustainability. My school, The College of William and Mary, did not have an urban planning program so I majored in Anthropology and Environmental Policy. Right now, I am exploring and trying to navigate beginning my adult life and career.

Interests

I love the outdoors, reading, and talking with people. I love exploring cities (their bookshops garner my particular attention) as well as wildernesses (state and national parks, etc.).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Steinbeck, Zadie Smith, David Mitchell, and have mixed feelings on Hemingway, though I can't seem to stop reading his works.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The moment I arrived in Prague after I went there to study abroad during my sophomore Spring at college stuck me (and its memory still strikes me) with awe. It was nighttime and snowing and my dorm building stood on the top of a hill overlooking the city and it was just too beautiful.

This week that my family spent in boondocks Utah when I was about 9 years old. My grandpa has always had a love of the American west and my entire family treks there, to various points of interest, every other Summer (I haven't yet plugged them all into my "Places I've Visited" list). We were in the middle of nowhere, at this shabby hotel, with a lovely stream in the back called the Little Zion. My cousins and I spent every hour at the motel splashing about back there and playing with a small raft we nicknamed "Lady Zion." We'd make day trips to canyons and state and national parks and every red vista was more stunning than the last. Then we'd come back to the motel and hurry out back to get back to the stream and the smaller wonders of Utah.
