Hello everybody! My name is Elena. Together with my husband Eduard we work and live far north of Russia near the Arctic circle with 8 month of winter, days with midnight sun and northern aurora lights.
Thanks to the long vacations that we get from living in a place with an extremely cold climate, we are able to travel a lot. From the age of 2, our 7-year-old son joined us traveling all over the world.
Becides travelling Eduard works a lot as an engineer in gas industry, also spending time being interested in electronics, drones and a bit of politics.
I (Elena) work in international oilfield services provider. Also I love cooking and I will be happy to share my expirience of prepairing delicious dishes (not only Russian food) and to know more about your traditional cuisine.
Our son Aleksei is a first grade schoolboy. His favorite hobbies are football, robotics, chess, Lego, Minecraft. Also he study english courses online.
This year we are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul-Sokcho- Ulsan- Pusan-Jeju island), we would like to immerse ourselves in the culture of your country.
We would love to stay with people with kids or who love kids.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We like to travel, but in hotels it is not always possible to feel the life of the country from within.
We want to get acquainted with people who live in different countries.
We would like to feel like a local people.

We love rock such as Muse, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys but on this our taste is not limited.
From the last books I read I can highlight Keyes Daniel - Flowers for Algernon. And the greatest impression on me was made by the book Rand Ayn - Atlas Shrugged.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We climbed to the top of volcano Teide and spent the night there (3718 m).
Made a bungee jump from the bridge (207 m).
Elena twice went on a tourist trip to wild nature lasting 1 month each.
We live in a place where temperature -45°C can last for a several weeks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations - we like to share our travel experiences and learn about yours! Also we want to learn more about Korea from the inside.
I can teach you prepairing most delicious dishes (also Russian borshch, have you tried?). In our last trip we brought with us a lot of russian products to prepare russian dishes.
