About Me
Hi, we’re Nora and Mailin, two 25-year-olds who just finished med school and are celebrating by traveling before real life catches up with us.
We started our trip visiting a friend in Australia and are now road-tripping up the coast, trying to soak up as much adventure as possible.
We’re both super open, love meeting new people, and enjoy getting to know a place through the people who live there. Couchsurfing seemed like the perfect way to do that (plus, let’s be honest, Australia is expensive).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For us, traveling isn’t just about places—it’s about the people we meet along the way. We love connecting with locals who can share their favorite spots, hidden gems, or just their best life stories. And who knows? Maybe one day we’ll be hosting you in Germany, returning the favor with some great company and chaotic travel stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
We love a good thriller or crime novel, but when it comes to music, it’s all about variety—Techno for dancing, Indie for road trips, and even a little bit of Country sneaks in sometimes. We recently took a salsa class, so we might just challenge you to a dance-off.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few years ago in Myanmar, before the civil war, I found myself in a tiny restaurant where no one spoke English. Through hand gestures and smiles, we connected with locals who were so excited to meet travelers that they invited us to sit outside, share stories, and later took us to a hidden pagoda festival. It was one of those magical travel moments—pure connection beyond words.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can teach you how to cook legit Vietnamese and Thai food (we’ve taken cooking classes!), order a beer in at least four languages, and help with French, Spanish, or German. Also, as doctors, we’re happy to share medical knowledge—including free skin cancer screenings (yep, PhD in Dermatology here). Oh, and we can start a fire like pros.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good vibes, deep convos, and a playlist that’s chef’s kiss. We love cooking (especially Vietnamese & Thai dishes), bringing a good bottle of wine, and spending evenings around a campfire swapping stories. Oh, and if you need a spontaneous karaoke partner or someone to start a dance party in the kitchen—consider it done.
