About Me

I'm a curious explorer of places and people who is most at home in the outdoors. I generally work the months of March-October with young adults in Western North Carolina and spend November-February traveling and climbing. The past 3 winters I have been roaming around the desert Southwest United States.

I like most things that involve creative problem-solving and thinking outside the box. I like to create and repair things with my hands. I don't want to spend my life feeling too comfortable, or worse, stuck. I assume positive intent. I am an extroverted introvert and couldn't do life without a bit of silliness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see Couchsurfing as a way to get to know a place and its people more intimately than traditional tourism. I want to do more than pass through a place; I want to connect with others and share experiences along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

January of '16 my best friend/climbing partner and I completed the most remote climb we've done in Red Rock Canyon, NV. It was well within our grade, but the approach included scouting safe driving lines for my wimpy passenger car, added hiking mileage because said wimpy car couldn't make the drive, amazing-looking rock (that was relatively poor quality in places), and an entire canyon all to ourselves. Spectacular!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love primitive fire building (bowdriling, specifically), and I've been known to make some great biscuits!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation and good humor; a positive attitude and willingness to help with most any chore/task that needs done.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Chile, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Turkey, United States
