Hi I´m Elias from Vienna,
and currently studying environmental engineering at our Tecnichal University thats also where I spend most days of the year, cause evan though it´s really intresting, it´s sadly also very time consuming. Besides studying the days in Vienna are filled with going to my local Boulder Gym, meeting some friends here and there and alot of cooking. I always love to try to recreate dishes I have eaten abroad. Currently trying to perfect my Indian Rotis.
But the other days of the year, the ones when the University is on Holiday. I always try to get out of Vienna. Either spending my time hiking and climbing in the mountains near vienna, or traveling around Europe. Since my Girlfriend and I are big fans of Night Trains, and many are starting in Vienna, we often book tickets in the cheapest class and do small city trips or staring from there go on longer adventures.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I´m traveling alot and think couch surfing could be a great opportunity to get in touch with locals at the places I travel to. Also at my flat share we have a Couch .... so I´m currently thinking about the possability to also Host people in Vienna.

Thanks to my father I listen to alot of classic and psychedelic rock like the Doors, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix ... .
Other than that I like quite alot of older Hip Hop like Nas or Mf Doom. But don´t worry I´m not only listening to Music from times long past. Probably my most favourite contempory artist is Mac DeMarco. When I´m out and about Raving or simply have to do my chores I love to listen to some Drum and Bass, especially Neurofunk, to get that vacuum cleaner going.

I´m not a big Movie person, but my Girlfriend is, so we go quite often to the Cinema together. But to be honest I don´t really have a favorite Movie.

My favourite Book is probably the "Schachnovelle" from the austrian author Stefan Zweig. The last book that really catched me was "All Quiet on the Western Front" , I had it with me last Summer when I hiked through Sweden, it was a good travel companion.

I´m a big fan of Comic Books. When I was younger I read alot of your classical Superhero comics from the big two. But nowadays I almost only read Independant Comics, for example I really enjoy the works of Guy Delisle. A few weeks ago I read "Safe Area Gorazde" it´s a sort of documentary comic from Joe Sacco about the Bosnian War, and it´s a truly fantastic book. Now I´m keen on reading Joe Saccos other works. Sadly I don´t have anyone to talk to about ....
