About Me

Former professional cyclist (I still ride in amateur races) and extremely passionate about languages. Teacher of the English language for the almost two decades. Simply in love with nature and traveling and meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. I share my passion for food with my beloved wife Fernanda who, by the way, is a wonderful cook.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Close to turning 40 and being married for 5 years I finally find myself in a position where I can search for the freedom I've longed for. I'm a country boy who had never left Brazil until 2015 (although I'd travelled a lot in my own country to race - I'm a former pro cyclist). I'm here because I can connect with people who share my passion for travelling and meeting new people and their culture and having conversations with people who aren't single minded (like mostly everyone in my hometown of 32 thousand people). My wife, a professional cook (she went to a prestigious college for a degree in cooking) and I both love travelling and are planning to get to know as many new cultures as possible before it is too late.

Interests

My wife and I are always in search of meals that are going to change our views of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Brazilian Music / Dead Poets Society, The Matrix / Brazilian writers, Edgar Allan Poe, Cycling books ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a pro cyclist for 3 years - so - pretty much everything I did during that period was amazing. Like racing around the whole state of São Paulo 3 times, racing along the Amazon River in the state of Macapá, stuff like that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning, teaching, sharing - that's what's allowed mankind to go from almost irrelevant animals in nature to the dominant species in this planet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Canada, Chile, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil
