Overview
About Me
I was raised in rural Maine, USA on a farm where I was taught to appreciate hard work and leisure time in the outdoors. I studied biology at University and worked with various biologists for a few years then continued my travels between jobs. I am now learning the wooden boat building craft and expanding the variety of my skills. I enjoy nature, travel, and being active. Soon I will begin building a schooner with friends that we can sail wherever we please.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is an unmatched experience for the modern human. What makes this experience inspire wisdom is our interactions with people. It is the people; their varying views and cultures that interests me while abroad. Couch surfing is a great way to find a temporary place in a foreign culture. And it saves some money!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love slapstick comedies like Superbad and Pineapple express but am just as easily drawn to intense dramas like A Beautiful Mind or Inception. Like most people in the modern world, I am totally addicted to some TV series like Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. Haven't checked out Game of Thrones yet though!
My favorite reads are adventure epics like the Aeneid, The Lost World, and Endurance.
I enjoy almost all types of music. Some of my favorite bands: The 1975, Zac Brown Band, The Avett Brothers, Saosin, Big Sean.
I enjoy playing guitar and sing out loud on every car ride.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the most amazing thing I've seen is Yerupaja, a snowy peak in the Peruvian Andes. I hiked along remnants of Inca trail there and camped alone during the off season where a Quechua speaking farmer shared fresh trout with me. Totally worth the altitude headaches.
Teach, Learn, Share
My region of the USA has many interesting cultural differences and a unique accent I would love to share!
I have some pretty rediculous travel stories that I don't share very often, but let's have a beer and share with each other.
In the right environment I can enjoy political conversations. I can help you understand that there are great Americans, our thoughts, and what we are doing to better our country from Trump's administration.
