ABOUT ME

We are a married couple both self employed artist types. We are very casual type people, who have travelled a bit, but not as much as we would like. We are not remotely religious (actually non believers but attend a Unitarian group), but very moral people, who volunteer and care about others, especially children. We have two college age boys, who live away from here and our extra special dog, Mr. Simon, a Boston bull terrier. We moved to this laid back island 10 years ago( Amelia Island), which features a historical downtown Victorian area.

PHILOSOPHY

Golden Rule says it all, but we feel born lucky even tho we haven't become rich or anything and we would like to help others whenever possible to have a chance at a good life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We just heard about this and joined a minute ago, but sounds like just our style of world diplomacy one person at a time, and finding good people to keep reassuring us that humanity isn't going to hell in a handbasket, or becoming right wing intolerant religious nuts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We never reserve ahead when travelling for the most part and occassionally have gone with the flow as we met people or found out about small places to stay.

Interests

Lots of types of music and art. Eliza is a well known lettering artist and interested in anything involving letters and words and art. Kenneth is involved in fine art B&W photography and changing himself into a digital printer as well as his expertise in darkroom.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many so little time. We love movies, especially independent and Netflix. Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen to Jazz to Ani Di Franco to Bela Fleck to Ricki Lee Jones to Brian Setzer to world music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We just spent our 25th anniversary under the full moon at the base of the largest Mayan Temple at Tikal in Guatemala. Wow.

We know alot about our artforms and travelling in other places and life. We would like to keep learning about other cultures and languages especially Spanish.
