Hey I'm Elin and I'm spending a year working and traveling around New Zealand and the South Pacific. I worked in the tourism industry for two years after I graduated from university and decided it was time for a change, so I sublet my apartment, sold my car, put my stuff in storage and bought a ticket down under.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been staying in hostels, but I would like to meet some locals while I'm in New Zealand. For me, travelling is not only seeing new places but also meeting new people. I'm hoping to meet some amazing travelers who can help show me the real New Zealand.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm currently listening to Imogen Heap, Coldplay, One Replublic and The Fray on repeat and love some good techno music when I want to mix it up.

It's so hard to choose, but some of my favorite movies include American Beauty, The Constant Gardner and Amalie.

I love to read historical fiction including Wilbur Smith and John Jakes but I've been really enjoying crime fiction lately with Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled around Europe and absolutely fell in love with it, but I want want to see the rest of the world before I decide where my next home should be.

I'm currently doing as many of the Great Walks that I can in New Zealand and am dreaming about hiking the Mont Blanc circuit and El Camino.

I would love help improving my photography...especially with landscapes, nature shots and architecture.

I've always wanted to be fluent in French and would happily provide help with English as well.
