Seeking some stillness after a year of constant travelling.
Last year I was resentfully struggling through a conventional life of university study and mundane work to pay my inconvenient bills. It was soul-destroying and ridiculous and getting me further and further into depression and debt. Luckily I eventually realised this fact (better late than never) and left all that nonsense last July to be a wandering gypsy again, which is what makes me feel most alive. I walked my first Camino de Santiago (amazing!), floated around with my backpack a few more months, and felt the pull off the Camino again. I've just finished this second one from Sevilla and am now searching for a reason to be still for a while, to find somewhere to recharge and reflect and repose.
Having no real commitments or time restraints means I can just get into the flow of whatever life offers me, and follow my own labyrinthine path to the magical core of it all....because life IS fucking magical, and conventional living tends to detract from this important fact. I just want to celebrate that divine mystery while walking the earth, with a big stupid grin on my face :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting like-minded people on my adventures, whether it's fellow wayfarers or lovely hosts! I think couchsurfing should be a beneficial exchange for both parties....it's still nice being part of other people's travel experiences by hosting them. I love the exchange of ideas and stories and perspectives that goes both ways.
I haven't done much couchsurfing on my travels so far, mostly because I'm incredibly disorganised and don't ever have set travel plans. But when I have got my shit together, it's been great!
I'm all about creative ways of expanding my mind and spirit...MUSIC, metaphysics, learning languages, travelling, art, dancing, yoga, meditation, singing, writing, poi, nature, and non-ordinary states of existence....I love playing guitar and mandolin, meeting new people, vegan/vegetarian food, getting hysterical, crafternoons
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is an extreme though healthy obsession of mine, so there´s too much to mention here....but a few mind-altering favourites are Beirut, Atahualpa Yupanqi, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Satie, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bon Iver, Leonard Cohen, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley, Chopin, David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald....I really love folk and world music, old blues and classical, and I think WOMAD is the greatest festival ever.
Reading is a luxury I don´t give myself enough time for, but when I do, it´s Alan Watts, Oscar Wilde, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, Charles Bukowski and the like..
I love anything by David Attenborough, Louis Theroux, David Lynch, and brilliantly awkward comedies like Peep Show (the best!), Jam, Summer Heights High, Frisky Dingo, etc etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Gibbon Experience in Laos was ridiculously cool - zooming along huge ziplines through the jungle and sleeping in amazing treehuts at night. Everything about it was insane and I love that.
